According to the ALEC-Laffer State Competitive Index, Illinois ranks 48^th in economic performance, 44^th in economic outlook, and 39^th in per capita personal income. What makes Illinois so uncompetitive? In a nutshell, Illinois’ tax burden is also among the worst in the nation.

Illinois taxpayers are paying too much for government. To restore Illinois’ competitive edge, and to truly generate jobs and economic growth, we need to reduce the burden placed on the taxpayers’ shoulders, both individual and corporate.
