Businesses should want to call Illinois home. Instead, Illinois drives businesses out of the state through excessive taxation and regulation, and then resorts to incentives to lure new employers into Illinois.
No matter what politicians may claim, Springfield simply does not have the capacity to create prosperity. At best, it can only redistribute wealth. At worst, it can destroy entrepreneurial initiative, costing the state both jobs and money. Rather than looking for ever increasing ways to squeeze taxpayers, both corporate and individual, government should be looking for ways to make it easier and more profitable to do business in Illinois.
Illinois must create a business climate that will attract employers and allow them to thrive once they are here. Reducing the weight of government that is currently carried by both employers and employees will create jobs and spur economic growth, and will free Illinois from the need to resort to legalized bribery to attract companies to our great State.
