Yankee and Rebel, Democrat and Republican, Black and White, us and them. That is how Illinois politicians want citizens to see the world. Those north of I-80, or I-72 or even I-64, and the rest of us. But as I wander around the state I just see people. People struggling to make sense of life, the economy, and the craziness called politics. We are focusing on saving the state government but should be concerned with the private citizens. We have let politicians, both north and south of I-80, define us, when in reality it is they that gain from this perception.
I am proud to say that I have found a good friend, Ed Rutledge, from up north to join me on this ticket. We are not only friends, but allies. And we recognize that we can remove corruption by removing over-taxation and targeted spending. When we reduce government in our lives we all, north and south, will gain back our lives and our freedom.

North or South? Urban or Rural? Conservative or Liberal? We have allowed our politicians to label us, and we have become accustomed to being divided. But this is not about geography. This is not about demographics, or even about party affiliation. This is about the concentration of political power, and this is about having a voice. Too few of us have a voice in Illinois politics, regardless of where we live, and too many Illinoisans are left in the cold while the few profit at the expense of the many. But if we feel forgotten by our politicians, it is because we have let our politicians steal our voice.
I am proud to be running alongside my friend, Lex Green, as we work together to restore political power to its rightful owners – Illinoisans. Our ticket shows that Illinois is one great state, north and south, urban and rural, conservative and liberal. Our ticket proves that when the interests of citizens come first, geographic differences fade away. It is time for Illinois politicians to serve all Illinoisans, rather than just the privileged few. It is time for us to break free from the labels attached by our politicians. It is time for you to get your voice back.
