There is a rising excitement in politics. In the last Presidential election many people answered Barack Obama’s call promising Hope and Change. Ron Paul inspired millions with his message of Liberty. Legions of citizens are joining with experienced pundits to bring about a new awareness that is changing the political landscape. This is grassroots activism, passionate but not controlled by the past.

There is a dark undercurrent that threatens to highjack that energy. It is Party Politics. Whenever you hear a call for political plotting, pushing to vote one for party to derail the other, beware. The movement for a New Politics has one necessary rule. It must stress Principle above Party. Its guiding forces must be honesty and integrity. We cannot choose the lesser of two evils. We must choose good above all evil.

I have aligned with the Libertarian Party, but I made a bargain with them. I must stand on Principle above Party or NO DEAL. And that is my promise to you. My guide will be the Constitution. I will campaign on the platform of protecting the Rights of the Citizens of Illinois. There can be no other platform.

We now have the perfect storm. All of the political forces are coming together. The resultant wave will tower above the tempest of party politics that has buffeted this state and this country for so long. I truly believe we can be elected. We can bring together those who want to reverse past trends. All you have to do is believe that an educated and energized electorate can make anything happen. Every election brings to us the opportunity level the playing field. Don’t let vested interests talk you out of your beliefs or your vote. Let’s stand together and wield the power that every self serving politician fears, the power of the ballot. If there ever was a time to make a difference, the time is NOW.
