Why Libertarian?

I have chosen to run for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Illinois as a Libertarian because it is the only party which truly believes that each of us has the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, each of us in our own way and each of us respecting the same rights shared by everyone else.

Because it is the only party which proposes to treat us as responsible, capable adults, rather than as children in need of a babysitter.

Because it is the only party which would not force us to fund special interest groups that we would not personally support or pay for ideas that we do not personally believe.

Because it is the only party which would actively protect and defend ALL of our individual rights.

Because it is the only party which would promote neither busybodies nor bureaucrats.

Because it is the only party which believes that smaller government is better government, and that government should be as local as possible.

Because it is the only party which proposes to address the root causes of society’s problems, rather than just the symptoms.

Because it is the only party which truly values and respects the dignity of people, not as statistics but as individual human beings with unique dreams and talents.

Because it is the only party which values liberty over license, society over politics, and community over bureaucracy.

I am running as a Libertarian because it is the only party with which I can in good conscience identify myself.
